Anish Giri had a golden opportunity in his game against Wei Yi. The Chinese player has had a somewhat disappointing performance (he was my pick!) and once again found himself on the losing end. Had he won, Anish would have had a chance to catch up to the leader, Sindarov, but it just wasn’t his day. Be that as it may, winning three consecutive games in this tournament would have been nearly impossible, so take that as a consolation. As for the position, the winning maneuver requires the inclusion of a third attacker (remember the magic number?). Two are manageable, but three? Connect the dots and you’ll find the winning plan!

Anish Giri tuvo una oportunidad de oro en su partida contra Wei Yi. El jugador chino ha tenido una actuación algo decepcionante (¡era mi favorito!) y, una vez más, acabó en el bando perdedor. De haber ganado, Anish habría tenido la oportunidad de alcanzar al líder, Sindarov, pero simplemente no era su día. Sea como fuere, ganar tres partidas consecutivas en este torneo habría sido casi imposible, así que que eso sirva de consuelo. En cuanto a la posición, la maniobra ganadora requiere la inclusión de un tercer atacante (¿recuerdas el número mágico?). Dos son manejables, pero ¿tres? ¡Une los puntos y encontrarás el plan ganador!
