My journey on hive has been a rollercoaster, it what happens when a desire for something singular, leads to a world filled with opportunities. I got involved with hive with one aim in mind, getting in touch with audience. I had very little knowledge of the crypto space, not to talk of hive Blockchain or as an ecosystem. I was just a poem writer, a poet, who enjoys penning down words filled with rhythm and rhymes in lines. I got involved with Wattpad and few other writing platforms but with no connection to web3. A strange encounter led me to hive. It all happened when a friend and former colleague of mine brought it up in one of our conversations. I must say, he had a very soothing and appealing way of pitching an idea to someone. He opened my eyes to a world of limitless opportunities but it made no sense because I had very little knowledge of cryptocurrency. He must have noticed, so pinned the explanation on "A platform that pays you for writing". For me that was the hook. You see, writing poems was already a fun thing for me but to hear of a platform that pays be for having fun, that was new for me I got involved with hive, wrote my introductory post and so the journey began. I must admit, it was beyond what I could imagine. In a simple term, it was overwhelming. I must say, people have it a lot easier now but regardless, I dived into a world where people cared about my writings and were interested in reading my ideas.

In those days, there was a strong standard of symbiotic relationship between authors and readers. People genuinely read post and write credible comments. That interaction with my post, without having to force my post link on people to get views, it was something I never experienced. Different communities with different rules but with one aim, to make hive a better place, by maintaining order and assisting authors make good contribution to the platform. With this, I get to build connection with people across the world l, people I have never met. I'm an introvert but hive made me a web3 ambivert. I started communicating with people, discovered discord, Canva and many others tools for writing and socializing. The connection was profound, and in that moment I found more productive ways to channel my energy. I wouldn't say I didn't consider hive as side hustle at some point, especially when I was in school but it was never my aim when I joined, I consider it a added benefits for my years of consistency. Because I wasn't privilege to have a good start when it comes to payout on post, that was because I focused more on writing poems than building connections. Despite that, I strived and I thrived. It was a journey beyond "writing to earn", I found knowledge, purpose and that became an habit. So every now and then, if I'm too busy to pick up my pen and publish a post, I feel like I am missing something. That how connected hive is, to my lifestyle.
