According to the bible You cannot serve two masters, For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. Money is a big issue and God, who provides for all our needs, wants to teach us how to use it in ways that bring honor to His name. Jesus teaches that, it is impossible to serve God and money at the same time. If we try, one loyalty will always interfere with the other. To follow God faithfully, our devotion and obedience must be undivided. If we cling to money as our security, our hearts will be drawn away from God. But if we trust and seek God first, money takes its rightful place, not as master but as servant to God's purposes. When we have this mindset we do not find it difficult to give to those that are in need because we begin to understand that one of the reasons God entrusted is with the finances is so that we can be channels of help to others who are also in need.
