Love redefined

The truest demonstration of love was one done on the cross. It was selfless and sacrificial, demanding nothing in return but that we love him back. The world system has its definition of love, one the society has come to terms with. While society celebrates love that demands something in return with conditions that benefit them, Christ redefined what love is, pointing out what it originally should be. The world believes in love being an exchange, one that demands reciprocation in return, it says "I give you as much as you give me" and unfortunately the world defines love based on this.

But this kind of love, the one the world celebrates, was redefined. God first loved us even when we were not worthy of it, and gave his only begotten son to serve as a redemption for the world. Love is defined in Corinthians 13, where it points out what nature love should portray. One of the outstanding things about the true demonstration of love is that it never fails even when prophecy and tongue fail. Love never envy, do not desire evil, love endures and is patient. All this and more makes up a redefined love, one where we love others as much as we love ourselves.

God is love, because by loving, we preach his nature. One of the important things he preached during his ministry was love, preaching his nature to mankind and showing them the way to him. So when we love, we show that God lives in us, if we practice the love shown on the cross- the sacrificial and selfless love.
