Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing okay despite everything happening around us.
Life here in the Philippines is not easy these days. The price of diesel keeps going up. Rice and other basic needs are also getting more expensive. Because of this, I have been feeling worried lately.
One of the reasons is our upcoming family reunion… and this time, we are the host family.

I feel pressure. Hosting a reunion is not easy, and it also needs a big budget. You need to prepare food, things for the program, and many other expenses. With everything getting expensive, I that I feel worried.

Before everything starts, I told myself… I need a little break. Thankfully, something unexpected happened.
My husband had a “pakyaw” trip because he has a rent-a-van. His passengers were his high school bestfriend and a God father of my daughter, and they allowed us to come with them. He brought me, our daughter, and my niece. For me, that was already a blessing, especially it’s a free transportation and trip at the beach.

Even with all my worries about the reunion, I was given a chance to relax first. While we were on the road, I started to feel calm. The sunlight reflecting on the road looked so peaceful. For a moment, I forgot all my worries. Then we finally saw the sea.

It was so beautiful calm, and very relaxing moment with my daughter and my niece.
But the best part was my daughter. She was so excited! She kept pointing at the water and shouting when she saw the sunlight reflecting on the sea. Her happiness was so pure, and it made me smile.

At that moment, I realized something.
Even if we are facing problems and financial struggles, we still deserve to pause and breathe. We still deserve small moments of happiness.
We didn’t spend much. It was not a big trip.

But it helped me relax and somehow relieved my worries. Because sometimes, before facing big responsibilities, we just need a simple moment to recharge.
This beach trip may be short, but it gave me peace and strength. Now, I feel more ready to face our upcoming family reunion.

Life may be hard, but moments like this remind me that everything will be okay.
Thank you so much for reading my simple story. The lead photo was edited in Canva. I hope you also find time to rest, even in the middle of your worries.
Have a nice day! 💛
