A Proud Dad Moment: My Son’s Epic Elden Ring Finale [ENG/SPA]

He’s finally done it—he reached the end of Elden Ring and defeated the final boss. I have to give credit where it’s due: my oldest son is the one who pulled this off. I’m not the biggest fan of the game myself, but in honor of his achievement, I’ve decided to post the video of his final battle. Believe it or not, this journey took him exactly four years.

Finalmente se ha llegado al final de Elden Ring y derrotado su jefe final. Debo destacar que quién lo ha hecho es mi hijo mayor, no soy tan fan de este juego, pero en honor a el y su proesa e decidido publicar el vídeo de su batalla final, ya que esto le tomo exactamente 4 años, si así como lo leen.

You might be wondering why it took so long. When he first started, he got caught up in the launch hype. Being a huge fan of medieval lore, he thought this would be a great choice, but he ran into the same surprise every "Souls" newcomer faces: a brutally complex game with difficult combat mechanics.

Se preguntarán porque le tomo tanto tiempo. Bueno, cuando el quiso jugar este juego, se dejó llevar por la emoción de su lanzamiento y al ser tan fanático de las historias medievales, pensó que este sería una gran opción para jugar, pero se llevo la sorpresa que todo novato del los Soul se encuentra, un juego complejo de mecánicas de combate difíciles.

On top of that, Elden Ring has a deep system for upgrades and builds that requires a lot of attention—hours upon hours of hunting for the best items, endless rune farming, and facing countless bosses just to get the right gear. Exploring one of the largest maps I’ve ever seen can easily overwhelm a 12-year-old.

A esto le sumamos que Elden Ring tiene un sistema de mejoras y ajustes complejo que requiere mucha atención, horas y horas de búsqueda de los mejores ítems, farmeo interminable de runas, enfrentamiento a incontables jefes para ganar los mejores ítems, exploración basta de unos de los mapas más grandes que he visto, todo este facilmen5puede abrumar a un jovencito de solo 12 años.

Over time, he kept playing as he matured and began to understand the game better. I often had to encourage and support him; other times, I actually had to nag him because he’d start playing other games and forget about this one. Finally, now that he’s older and has more skill with the Souls genre, he decided to finish it.

Por eso con el pasar del tiempo lo fue jugando mientras maduraba y lo entendía, muchas veces me tocó alentarle y apoyarle, otras regañarle porque se ponía a pasar otros juegos y este lo olvidaba, hasta que por fin decidió terminarlo, ya con más edad y destreza para enfrentar un Soul.

To beat the boss, he realized he needed to swap his armor for better stats—specifically a helmet and boots with higher defense and a chest piece with solid Holy damage negation, since that’s the boss's primary attribute. He used max-level weapons focused on Bleed damage: a +25 Blood Nagakiba and the Rivers of Blood katana, which has a special skill for rapid successive attacks.

Para vencer al jefe le tocó entender que habia que cambiar la armadura a una mejor estadísticas. Usar un casco y botas con mejor defensa y un Peto con buena protección contra daño santo, ya que esta es la principal característica del jefe. Las armas al nivel maximo cuya cualidad principal es sangrado. Una es la Nagakiba de Sangre +25 la otra la katana roja que se llama Ríos de Sangre, tiene la habilidad especial de sangrado que hace ataques sucesivos rápidos.

This was crucial because he equipped the Winged Sword Insignia talisman (found in Stillwater Cave) to boost those successive hits. He also used the Haligdrake Talisman +2 to reduce Holy damage, which you get in the Mohgwyn Palace area. To top it all off, he used the Flask of Wondrous Physick with Dexterity and Strength tears to maximize his weapon damage.

Esto fue importante porque en los talismanes se debe colocar uno que potencia los ataques sucesivos, llamado Insignia de Espada Alada, que se encuentra en la Cueva de Agua estancada, venciendo al jefe. El otro talisman que se coloca, reduce el daño santo llamado Draco Santo +2, al vencer al jefe del Palacio de Mohgwyn. A todo eso le sumo el uso del Frasco de Cataplasma asombrosa, con lágrima de destreza y fuerza para potenciar el daño de las armas.

 

The ultimate reward for winning is the Sacred Relic Sword, obtained by trading in the Remembrance you receive from the boss. Plus, you finally claim the Elden Ring and become Elden Lord. He pulled this off at level 159. It was an incredible fight; we were both jumping for joy at the end because of how hard it was and because it was the culmination of a years-long journey.

La gran recompensa es por vencer el Espada de Reliquia Sagrada que se obtiene al intercambiar el recuerdo que recibes al vencer al jefe. Además de hacerte con el Anillo de Elden que te convierte en el señor de Elden. Esto se logró con un nivel de 159. Fue un combate emocionante, al final brincamos de emoción los dos, porque costó bastante vencerlo y por los años de tardo en hacerlo.
