With 6 matches to go this last weekend set the cat amongst the pigeons with Arsenal letting their hold on the title slip. The next 6 matches should see some twists and turns and this weekends match between the top 2 will go a long way to making this a title race for the ages.

Arsenal have come so close over the last few years having last won the title way back in 2004. Runners up in 2005,2016, 2023, 2024 and 2025 with the 2024 title decided on the very last game of the season. The "bottlers" is what the team has been labelled for not being able to get over the line. Their manager Mikkel Arteta has not helped gain them sympathy with his constant whinging saying they deserved the title. Obvious frustration and you somehow get the feeling it is just not meant to be and if they do not do it this season then they are never going to do it.
Pressure is something you cannot train for and it should be learned how to handle through experience and the team just looks like they cannot handle pressure. Manchester City on the other hand have not had a great season and just somehow are still in the running and if they win their last 6 games will win the title. A big if in the circumstances, but they are in the driving seat in control of their own destiny.
I was watching the Manchester United vs Leeds match and during the television coverage one of the pundits mentioned MU are safe to finish in the top 5. I would disagree with that comment and complacency is never a good thing which often goes against you. The team does not look strong and the teams they are playing in the last 6 matches will be trying to finish higher in the league so definitely nothing easy. Will Carrick still be the manager if they do not qualify for Champions League football next year?
Liverpool and Chelsea have failed to deliver yet still are in the fight for finishing in the top 5 and their inconsistency has helped Manchester United be in 3rd place. These two teams having both lost 10 matches is a direct reflection of how they have performed.
The biggest disappointment of the season has to be Tottenham and the way the team is playing have to be favorites to be relegated along with Burnley and Wolves. The team just seems to have been bad going back to Mourinho days when he mentioned the dressing room had been lost after taking over from Pochettino. 9 managers in 5 seasons tells you all you need to know how badly run Tottenham are and the blame has to lie at the owners doors. The players they have bought in are not of the standard one would expect.

Tottenham being relegated actually may be a blessing for the club because finally the club can get their shit together and fix the problems. If they are not going down this season then the team will not improve next season and are going to continue to struggle. De Zerbi was mad to accept being the new manager of Tottenham and needs a total rebuild of the squad which the owners will never agree.
West Ham and Nottingham Forest are the other relegation outsiders and think West Ham got the right manager in the nick of time to turn things around. Nothing is guaranteed in sport so who knows who will win the title and which one of the 3 teams will be relegated along with Burnley and Wolves.
