I got up extra early this morning. I had to be in Corner Brook by 8:30am to pick up my clients father in law. He lives in Long Term Care. Not the one my Dad is in. He had an appointment to the dentist in Deer Lake. It was easier and closer for me to pick him up and drop him off. My clients husband met me at the dentist office to take him to his appointment.
He wants to get a new set of dentures!๐ Vernon, my clients husband, who is his son, thinks its weird to be 88 years young and want new teeth. I told him if it makes him happy, who cares, let him have a new set of dentures. Last week he got a new pair of eye glasses.๐ค He may live for another 10 years. Let him be happy, he has pride!
I went to my Aunt's house for an hour, to relax. After that I went to my sons, for a short visit. I picked up my soul sister, Jackie, we went to a church get together. It's called; Ladies night out! Around 78 women attended.
We were served a nice supper {pineapple glazed ham, fried potatoes, carrots and corn}. A tasty dessert, tea or coffee!
It was started off with a beautiful prayer,GRACE was said before we ate. We sang worship hymns and a lady sang 2 solo hymns! It was a night filled with good food, fellowship and fun. I call that, good the the soul.

They had a special guest speaker, a RCMP officer, to speak on SCAMS! Whether it be online, by phone or at your door, it was to make people aware of them. As I was getting ready to go out into the main church, for the singing, ... the RCMP lady asked me if she knew me from somewhere. She thought I was from Labrador. I politely said no, but I told her she knew me. I whispered that my maiden name was Hampton. She looked at me with wide eyes and a shocked look!
Oh my she said, you are looking great! I smiled and said thank you! She said she was happy that everything worked out for me and my family. She was talking about when my son went down a bad road with drugs. Cocaine and crack cocaine! He was arrested 5 times or more. It wasn't a happy time for me. I became stressed, my mental health took a toll on me. I know I looked haggard, worn out.
He is sober for 3 years now, got his boys living with him. He even got his own business opened, he is hiring workers to help him during the busy season that is soon happening. He a carpenter by trade! I am proud of how far he has come!
May I quote: God bless! Life is good!
