Walk the Kirribili foreshore on a clear blue sky day : April 15 2026
Had half an idea to head to Blue Mountains for some walking. Got moving a bit late. Did the next best thing - leave home at the appointed time and catch the first train and plan from there

That got me on a train to Milsons Point and the idea to walk Sydney Harbour foreshore to get to a ferry wharf and home from there. First photo is new signage for The Milson. More telling is the logo on the lift mechanism behind. Preservation Technologies - all looks modern to me

Nothing new here - the gateway sign for Olympic Pool at Luna Park and Bradfield Park

Walk down to the water does give great angles on Sydney Harbour Bridge

Perfect blue sky day with no breeze. A sliver of the cruise ship

Portrait shot

Heading around under the bridge - cruise ship in focus and Opera House unfolding

Full shot of the Opera House with Manly ferry action

Each corner around opens up new shots of the bridge. Idea - no plan - was to walk as close to the harbour as paths and roads would allow

Moreton Bay figs grow all along this path

The plan hit this path closed point. The young ladies had walked along the rocks and in the water to get around. I chose the long road

Beulah Street wharf - no longer a ferry wharf but a spot for fishing

Admiralty House - next door to the Prime Minister's house. No walkway along the water front here

Lots more waterfront access not open heading to North Sydney wharf - zigzag the roads it is

Framed shots across to the Navy base from the PM'S house. He can watch who is looking after him. Lookout named after the lady who lived in Admiralty House all those years ago

Jump ship shot from higher uo. No framing. Learned last week the jump ramp is not used. Navy wanted them removed - too expensive. Now a helicopter ship

A quiet dsy for the dinghy's - one motorboat instructor for each 3 yachts. When I was learning - just me and my mate

A few more angles on the jump ship

Church tower from Loretto Convent - fab spot for school

View back up to North Sydney

Path comes down to HMAS Platypus - submarine training base. Hard to know when there was last a submarine here. Might need a Google search

A bit of a wait here with maybe enough time to walk around to the next wharf. Have done it before - walk around the water's edge and then up and around

Google Maps idea - walk to ferrry and catch the ferry. Never going to be 6.minites as the ferry is more than 15 minutes away

Rather watch this yacht head into the wind - unfurl the mainsail and then turn and run down wind with the genoa up

Wharf shot - read the sign about fishing

Oops

The young man did move away when the ferry arrived

View across to HMAS Platypus

Cruise ship in Circular Quay with Opera House in front and Crown Casino behind

Another shot - no Opera House
Turned into a fab walk going down every side alley to the water. Fab still day and blue sky adds a sparkle
Bought sushi for lunch and hilly to get home
Got let off dinner cooking - finish off chilli from last night
