Richmond Park orchid promise : April 13 2026

Turning into one of those nothing days - got a few of those going with depression biting away. Walked up to book my car in for service and then do the loop walk through Richmond Park

Lawns mowed. Blinds open. Guessing this house will soon be occupied.

Walked a remnant Turpentine forest - it has one slice of acianthus orchids where the ferns do not grow. A few budding

One a bit further along - buds showing but the leaf has left the ground which suggests it has self-pollinated

Last time I walked this way found one colony of greenhood orchids on the edge of the path - this one

More than one colony - this plant pushing out a new leaf - no spike yet

Was good to find a few more colonies. Previously had only seen the plants above this - lines up a big season to come

Big house reno recently completed - been a while to get a photo without building material or a.car parked. A bit old world

Did a bit of shopping on the way home. Dinner was a simple boerewors bbq. One of my favourites
