Hello friends, today I want to tell you about a beautiful place, which I visited some time ago, but if you are in the vicinity of the city of Padua, therefore in the north of Italy, I recommend you visit and I am talking about the splendid Villa dei Vescovi, a very fascinating place on the Euganean Hills a few kilometers from Padua.

We are talking about a Renaissance villa that is completely immersed in greenery and you will notice this as soon as you arrive in this place. In fact, the villa was built in the Renaissance between 1535 and 1542 and was practically the summer residence of the bishops of Padua, a place to retreat and stay in peace. When I visited this villa, which I did with a private guide but in reality you can also do it simply on your own, the guide told me that practically in this villa a great architect intervened, Giulio Romano, and the interiors were decorated by the Flemish painter Lambert Sustris. In fact, inside the villa you will find numerous frescoes of villages, landscapes but also very mythological things.

The visit to this villa left me truly speechless, I would never have expected to find such a jewel immersed in the Euganean Hills, but in reality what comes to mind when you visit these places is that it is a holiday resort, instead this was a place designed for the meeting of intellectual artists, we can almost define it as a sort of cultural salon today.

You can already guess that this building is similar or inspired by the Roman Domus precisely because of this fusion between architecture, landscape and daily life, and think that this place for several years remained the property of the Curia of Padua, and had also fallen into a very bad state but fortunately then in 2005 it passed to an association called the Italian Environment Fund, which practically completely restored it and made it accessible to people who want to visit it. Below in the table I will leave you all the useful information for visiting this unique place, I naturally recommend the visit and thank you for taking the time to read this post
