Why AI Tokens Are Better Than AI Stocks

Throughout history, commerce has always been conducted human-to-human, whether in person, over the phone, or via the Internet.
However, with rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence, and the advent of AI agents, many humans may find themselves less useful, and potentially out of work.

How can we prepare for such a future, in which our jobs may be at risk?
Traditional AI Stocks At Risk
Mainstream analysts will probably recommended investing in centralized companies like the "Magnificent Seven", Oracle, or Nvidia to profit from the future AI-powered economy.
Corporate giants like Meta, Google, and Microsoft are building out massive data centers throughout the United States in preparation for increased AI training and @brennanhm/how-to-make-ai-inference-more-affordable-with-nosana-95j" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">inference demand.
These are publicly listed companies and their stocks can be purchased via your bank or stock broker, who then holds those assets for you.
The Great Reset & Private Assets
What the analysts often fail to mention is the elite's plan for a Great Reset. The idea being that "you will own nothing and be happy".
As national, corporate, and individual debt continue to grow at exponential rates, the financial system is becoming less and less sustainable. Klaus Schwab announced the need for a reset in 2020, shortly after covid was unleashed on the world.
Stocks, bonds, and even real estate could all be appropriated by the government if a Great Reset or a "Great Taking" came to fruition. We are already seeing states like New York taking steps to acquire private property, and Canada handing over entire cities.
As the wealth gap between the rich and the poor widens, and mass migration continues, the government will likely propose solutions that include both digital and physical asset seizure in order to redistribute the wealth, and provide adequate housing.
In such a scenario, investors would finally realize the benefits of investing in unconfiscatable assets.
Unconfiscatable Crypto-Based AI Assets
Unlike a Microsoft stock or a bank account, Bitcoin is an unconfiscatable asset that is truly yours. It has led to a Cambrian explosion of other censorship-resistant and programmable coins and tokens.
Ethereum, for example, was built on Bitcoin's foundation, but offered additional functionality such as the tokenization of @brennanhm/what-is-rwa-some-projects-that-are-putting-real-estate-stocks-and-bonds-on-a-blockchain" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Real World Assets (RWAs), as well as smart contracts and tokens that AI agents can use to exchange value.
An AI Agent is an autonomous system powered by AI (typically Large Language Models) that can perceive its environment, reason, make decisions, and take actions to achieve specific goals, often by using tools or interacting with other systems.
With a blockchain like Ethereum or Solana, AI agents can identify themselves, build reputations, and conduct commerce with other AI agents using censorship-resistant digital tokens.
Conducting Commerce With AI Tokens
Imagine a world in which millions of AI agents operate autonomously, offering and requesting each other's services. How would they pay each other for things like data, compute, and research?
Using the permissioned, "business hours only" traditional banking system would introduce too much friction. The better option would be to exchange value automatically, and directly via trustless blockchains.
The question is, which tokens will the agents use to exchange value?
@brennanhm/stablecoins-are-useful-for-now-but-doomed-to-failure" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Stablecoins are a reasonable option for now, so long as the US dollar continues to hold value.
However, considering the US government's massive unsustainable debts, @brennanhm/is-a-watershed-moment-for-the-us-dollar-close-at-hand" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the de-dollarization efforts of many countries, and the @brennanhm/putin-confirms-brics-is-developing-its-own-independent-payment-system" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BRICS plans to launch their own payment system, how much longer will the dollar system survive before it implodes, or is intentionally reset?
And if that happens, what new currencies would fuel the AI-powered economy?
Energy and Compute Tokens
AI agents need both energy and compute power. As of today, most of this compute power is centralized in the hands of the big tech companies. However, there is a trend towards the decentralization of this infrastructure via @brennanhm/posts?filter=depin" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePINs).
Networks like @brennanhm/depin-spotlight-akash-network-implements-burn-mint-equilibrium-tokenomics-model" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Akash, io.net, and @brennanhm/how-to-make-ai-inference-more-affordable-with-nosana-95j" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nosana are aggregating underutilized GPUs in order to run decentralized inference on AI models. Meanwhile, projects like Powerledger, Energy Web Token, and @brennanhm/three-emerging-depin-projects-on-the-polygon-blockchain-5p" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Arkreen are working to decentralize the energy infrastructure by using token incentives.
There are also numerous projects, such as Virtuals and FET, that are designed to be a launchpad and economic layer for AI agents. The tokens that power these platforms could also be used by AI agents to transact value.
In the future, when an AI agent needs to use the services of another, they may pay each other directly in a DePIN or a launchpad token. If the decentralized, AI-powered economy continues to grow, the value of these tokens could increase (NFA!).
Until next time...
While some may see it as a con, one of the advantages of crypto is its low barrier to entry. That means anyone can launch their own AI agent token and compete, making it crucial to constantly research and keep an eye on network effects in the ever-evolving AI/blockchain space.
The majority of investors are still accustomed to the old, centralized world of banks, brokers and stocks, where asset seizure is possible. However, the likely trend is towards the decentralization of resources, and autonomous blockchain-powered payments between AI agents.
