Augusta Chewed Me Up And Spat Me Out. Meet Your Masters 2026 Winner.

I led for three days.
I led by six shots after Round 2.
I led by three shots after Round 3.
And I finished sixth.
Welcome to Sportsblock's US Masters 2026 recap โ the contest where your boy blanchy (me, yes, your narrator) got absolutely cooked on Sunday and a man named talesfrmthecrypt walked off with 6,000 MEDALS because he guessed the winning score within a single stroke.
Grab a beer. Let's talk about it.
๐ฅ The Winner: talesfrmthecrypt (-24, 6,000 MEDALS and 200 Hive that I have to talk to @niallon11 about)
Picks: Justin Rose, Patrick Reed, Collin Morikawa Tiebreaker: -11 (actual winning score: -12)
This is the kind of win that makes you drop your putter mid-round.
Tied at -24 on total score with mondoshawan going into tiebreaker town. Actual winning score? -12. talesfrmthecrypt's guess? -11.
One. Single. Stroke. Off.
The tiebreaker rule is simple: closest guess wins. mondoshawan guessed +9. That's 21 shots off.Now I bet you tried to write minus 9 but even at this you would have been 3 shots off so tales still would have won it.
talesfrmthecrypt didn't just win the contest. He manifested the winning score. 6,000 MEDALS deposited directly into his wallet. Tx on-chain. No takebacks.
King of the Greens. Oracle of Augusta. Prophet of Pars.
๐ฅ Second: mondoshawan (-24, 2,500 MEDALS)
Picks: Cameron Young, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa
If there's a "best picker" award, this is where it goes.
Nobody else in the field had Cameron Young. Nobody. mondoshawan saw the 22/1 price and said "yeah, that guy." Cameron Young then proceeded to co-lead the tournament through 72 holes and finish T3.
Matsuyama grinded. Morikawa carried the final two rounds. It was a masterclass in picking three golfers who weren't the obvious three.
Only thing between him and the big cheque? A +9 tiebreaker against a tournament that finished at -12. That's a brutal way to lose 3,500 MEDALS.
Still โ 2,500 MEDALS for the best draft of the contest. Respect.
๐ฅ Third: valentin86 (-20, 1,500 MEDALS)
Picks: Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Sungjae Im
The Scheffler + McIlroy combo was the cheat code of the contest. If you had both, you were eating.
valentin86 had both.
Im didn't really show up (+4). But when your other two combine for -21, nobody cares about the third guy. 1,500 MEDALS locked in.
Also: the +10 tiebreaker was spicy. Guessed the Masters would be won at +10 over par. Bless you. But scoreboard says top 3, so we're not judging.
๐ The Collapse (i.e. me)
Picks: Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Matthew Fitzpatrick
Led the contest wire-to-wire through R1, R2, R3. Gloated on Sportsbites that I was gonna award myself the MEDALS. Just like Rory thought he would cloak himself with the green jacket only to have Johnny Augusta don it for him.
Saturday night I was -23 with a 3-shot cushion. Sunday morning I was practicing my acceptance speech.
Sunday reality:
- Rory: -11 โ -12
- Lowry: -9 โ -1 (Disaster)
- Fitzpatrick: -1 (flat)
Gave back 6 shots in 18 holes and slid from 1st to 6th.
Stared into the abyss. The abyss stared back. The abyss was holding a green jacket and it wasn't mine.
-17 overall. Zero MEDALS. All the lessons.
The contest is supposed to be fun. I am having several feelings.
๐คก Hall of Shame: The Rahm Curse
Jon Rahm opened at 12/1. "Value," they said.
Six entries picked Rahm. LIV Tour Rahm!!! Rahm who sold his soul. I saw him in person in Portrush. No backswing. He comes up half way and bammm. Rahm finished +6.
All six pickers: rank 11 or worse.

| danideuder | 20 (dead last) |
Special shoutout to danideuder who went full triple-bust with Rahm + MacIntyre + Spieth and finished a cool +3 over the field. The courage to stick with your convictions. The pain of watching them unravel hole by hole. Poetry.

๐ฅ The Takeaways
- Rory McIlroy won the Masters at -12. Career grand slam. Cinematic. Put a fork in his doubters.
- Cameron Young is a monster. If you didn't see him coming, mondoshawan did.
- Tiebreakers matter. Your guess of the winning score is worth potentially 3,500 MEDALS. Take. It. Seriously.
- Jon Rahm is not a Masters pick. We'll see you at the US Open, King.
- Leading a tournament isn't the same as winning it. (I learned this on Sunday. The hard way.)
๐ What's Next
The World Cup contest is coming soon. Pick totals. Rack up points. No golf-swing heartbreak required. And myself and tales are mustering up another football one but it will be a multi league over under play your cards right feel.
