Thoughts and available keys from Humble Drop: June 2025

Warhammer 40k: Boltgun Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Remastered Nobody Wants to Die Dungeons of Hinterberg Tchia Sker Ritual Biped Havendock
I've claimed some of the games from this drop, but please leave a comment with an offer in HBD/HIVE if you are interested in picking up a Steam key for any of the games that I don't claim myself!
Hmmmmmm.... this particular Humble Bundle wasn't the best one for me. Not a lot in there that was presonally interested in, but perhaps it is a bundle that might be more interesting for other people.
Anyway, leading the package this month was a Warhammer 40k game.... I love the Warhammer universes, there is something quite appealing about the dark fantasy and the dark future variants. I'm not quite sure which one I prefer, but both are pretty hardcore dark stuff, which makes for some really great plot hooks. So, normally a Warhammer game would really appeal to me... but in this case, a retro-styled FPS... well, this isn't it for me. I'm not quite sure what turns me off... the retro style (I lived and gamed in those days... fond memories, with the emphasis on MEMORIES!).... or the FPS thing, which I'm starting to find more and more confusing now that I'm getting older! So, a pass for me... but maybe interesting for someone who hasn't lost their edge in reaction time!
Sigh,,, Legacy of Kain... another Remaster... honestly, these things shouldn't be redone. Again, same rationale... these games were great for their time, and the huge qualifier is FOR THE TIME! Usually the revisiting of the games reveal their jankiness, the sorts of tings that were due to limitations of the hardware at the time... and forgotten in the rose-tinted memories. Remastering them, well... just ruins the memories.
Nobody Wants to Die has been a game that has been on my wishlist for ages! And this was the only game that I ended up claiming in this drop! LA Noir set in a futuristic setting... AWESOME! And it looks pretty as all hell as well! Insta claim!
Dungeons of Hinterberg was the other game that I was interested in... again, sitting on my wishlist for ages, until I made the mistake of buying it in a Steam sale! Poop... and now here it is! A perfect match for the Steam Deck, and a cute take on the dungeon crawler Action RPG genre. It feels a bit "on-rails" at the beginning and I'm hoping that it will develop out.. but definitely an interesting and entertaining game, but not claimed... because I had already bought it!
Tchia seems like a perfectly decent and cute open world exploration game... and I already have quite a few like it... so, it isn't really a comment on the game that I'm not claiming it... and it seems more like a game that is aimed at the kiddie demographic, perhaps younger girls? Perhaps my girls would be interested... but it isn't for me!
Sker Ritual is a co-op zombie survival game... FPS as well. Sigh... I don't like playing computer games with other people! Pass!
Biped... another co-op game, but more like a couch co-op. I do play a few of these types of games with my younger daughter, but for some reason there are gamer reviews complaining about the jankiness of the controls for Biped. Well, no need to add a half-baked game to our gaming sessions! Skip!
Havendock does seem interesting... a more cutesy take on the colony-builder sim... perhaps with less depth than Dwarf Fortress or other similar games. But apparently quite a grind-fest as well... so, I think I will stick to the hardcore ones for myself!
