Totem

I really don't know how to define or describe what I've been doing lately, especially this year. I've reached a point where I just mix and use whatever happens to land on my desk, in a completely spontaneous and intuitive way. Here I used a cardboard box—the one a bar of soap came in—that I liked, so I cut it open and started writing and drawing with liquid aniline dye—which I use as ink—using a peacock feather. Once each part was finished, I began arranging them, as if building a totem pole, and I realized that was exactly what it was. I really like it a lot.
