The floods that struck Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra have left deep sorrow, including for students studying at the affected universities.
This situation prompted Bank Muamalat, Lhokseumawe Branch Office, to participate in the assistance, along with other parties. The Islamic banking assistance was distributed to students affected by the floods at five state and private universities in Lhokseumawe City and North Aceh Regency.
The Head of the Bank Muamalat Lhokseumawe Branch, Muhammad Reza Anrycco, detailed the five campuses as: Malikussaleh University (14 students), Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic (15 students), and UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah (15 students).

The private universities receiving the assistance were Darussalam Health College (STIKES) in Lhokseumawe, with 15 students, and Lhokseumawe Military Hospital (Akper Kesdam) in Lhokseumawe, with 20 students.
According to Reza, the assistance came from the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), which entrusted the funds to Rumah Zakat and Baitul Mal Muamalat. "BPKH itself has been the majority shareholder in Bank Muamalat Indonesia since 2021," he said in Lhokseumawe on Tuesday, April 15, 2026.
Reza added that Bank Muamalat Branch Office Lhokseumawe was authorized to select universities whose students were affected by the November 2026 flood disaster, and selected these five universities.

Through this program, Bank Muamalat can help flood-affected students reduce their burden on their studies, both by paying tuition fees and for other needs that can help smooth the flow of their studies after the flood disaster.
"This program demonstrates Bank Muamalat's commitment to students affected by the floods. We don't just want to be a financial institution, but also a part of the community," said Reza, urging everyone to work together to help the flood victims.[]
