Hello everyone, good morning. Recently, when I had the opportunity to take my newly rescued dog to the spay/neuter clinic, I encountered a very pleasant surprise: the owners of the house in El Tigre where the clinic is held also run a shelter for kittens rescued from the streets.
They come in all colors and sizes, so many adorable little creatures all together in one place. Some were alone, while others were in a group. They were very playful, and naturally, I felt their longing to be taken out, adopted, and have a home where they could receive lots of love. Even so, I know they are in a safe place, well cared for, attended to by veterinarians, and waiting for responsible adoption.
It's astonishing how many daily reports of abandoned kittens, even newborns, in bags, boxes, or simply wandering aimlessly. I will not tire of addressing this sensitive issue to raise awareness and sensitivity, because they are beautiful and innocent living beings, and it's not right to do this to them.
What always fills me with satisfaction is how more and more animal rescuers are joining this cause every day, forming a wonderful network of outreach, support, fundraising, raffles, foster homes, food distribution, and any other help possible to rescue and care for these animals until they can be adopted.
But the rampant increase in animal abandonment and abuse, not only of kittens but also of dogs, remains distressing. While there is a law that has addressed this issue to some extent, I feel that more force is needed to control these cases.
The truth is, I admire the dedication of these rescuers, and it would be wonderful if many more would do the same, if they are able, to provide shelter for the many abandoned kittens roaming the city.

Hola a todos, buenos días. Recientemente, cuando tuve la oportunidad de llevar a la perrita recién rescatada a la jornada de esterilización, me encontré con una sorpresa muy bonita, y es que los dueños de la casa donde se realizan las jornadas en El tigre, tienen un albergue de gatitos rescatados de la calle.
Los hay de todos los colores y tamaños, muchas cositas lindas juntas en un solo lugar. Algunos estaban aislados y otros se encontraban en manada. Eran muy juguetones, y lógico, sentí el deseo que tenían de ser sacados, adoptados y tener una casita donde recibir mucho amor. Aun así, sé que están en un lugar seguro, bien cuidados, atendidos por los veterinarios, y esperando una adopción responsable.
Es sorprendente la cantidad de reportes diarios de gatitos abandonados, incluso recién nacidos, en bolsas, en cajas, o simplemente a la deriva. No me cansaré de tocar este tema tan delicado para crear conciencia y sensibilización, porque son seres vivos hermosos e inocentes y no es justo hacerles esto.
Lo que siempre me llena de satisfacción es cómo se suman a diario más y más proteccionistas a esta causa, y conjuntamente forman una maravillosa cadena de difusión, apoyo, recolecta de fondos, rifas, hogares temporales, suministro de alimentos y cuanta ayuda sea posible para rescatarlos y atenderlos hasta que puedan ser adoptados.
Pero continúa siendo angustiante la manera desatada de multiplicarse el abandono y el maltrato animal, no sólo de gatitos, sino también de perritos. Ante esto, existe una ley que de alguna manera se ha pronunciado, pero siento que aún falta más fuerza sobre la situación para controlar estos casos.
Lo cierto es que admiro el detalle de estos proteccionistas, y sería hermoso que muchos más lo hicieran si está en sus posibilidades, con el fin de albergar a tantos gatitos abandonados deambulando por la ciudad.
