One thing in life is that God's intention for us is to face tribulations as believers as this would help us to become a better Christian.
The great Apostle Paul and the first century Christian who were better off also faced tribulations which means we are meant to face tribulations as believers.
2 Corinthians 11:26-27 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
What Apostle Paul was saying here is that he faced tribulations and that as believers we should be ready to face tribulations as we will make us a better believer.
Romans 5:3-5 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
The above scriptural verse is what tribulation can do for us. Here, Apostle Paul is telling us that we glory in tribulation.
In conclusion, Bro. Eli is telling us that tribulation is part of life and as a Christian we should not shy away from it and it would help us to be strong and even renew our hope.
