Play-In Day 1: Charlotte Survives a Nail-Biter and Portland Pulls Off a Stunner (English/Spanish)

Last night, the postseason madness kicked off, and logic took a backseat. We had drama in Charlotte and an epic comeback in Phoenix.

Charlotte Hornets 127 - 126 Miami Heat 🔥 (OT)

A historic finish at the Spectrum Center! The Hornets (9th) survived a war of attrition against the Heat (10th). The game was a constant back-and-forth that was decided in the final seconds of overtime.

LaMelo Ball donned his superhero cape with 30 points and 10 assists. Although he struggled from three-point range (2-16), he made up for it with relentless aggression attacking the rim, including the game-winning layup with 4.7 seconds left in overtime.

Miles Bridges was key with 28 points and the game-saving block on the final play of the game. Coby White also stepped up when the team needed him most with 19 points, hitting the three-pointer that sent the game to overtime.

For Miami, Davion Mitchell led the way with 28 points and Andrew Wiggins added 27. The Heat had the win in their hands with free throws from Tyler Herro (23 pts), but they couldn’t close the door.

Miami is out, and Charlotte will vie for the #8 seed this Friday against the loser of the Sixers/Magic game.

Phoenix Suns 110 - 114 Portland Trail Blazers

A crazy comeback in the desert! The Trail Blazers (8th) erased an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to snatch the seventh seed and a direct ticket to the playoffs.

A historic performance by Israeli Deni Avdija with 41 points and 12 assists. He sealed the game with an “and-1” (basket and foul) with 16 seconds left, putting Portland ahead on the scoreboard.

Jalen Green carried Phoenix with 35 points, and Devin Booker added 22, but the Suns froze in the final 7 minutes of the game.

Portland secures the #7 seed and will face Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs (2nd). The Suns face a do-or-die game on Friday against the winner of the Clippers-Warriors matchup.

Without a doubt, it was an exciting night for the first night of the Play-In Tournament, and this phase continues today with the games between the 76ers and the Magic, and the Clippers and the Warriors.

¡Final para la historia en el Spectrum Center! Los Hornets (9°) sobrevivieron a una guerra de desgaste contra el Heat (10°). El partido fue un toma y dame constante que se decidió en los últimos segundos del tiempo extra.

LaMelo Ball se puso la capa de superhéroe con 30 puntos y 10 asistencias. Aunque sufrió con el triple (2-16), compensó con una agresividad total atacando el aro, incluyendo la bandeja ganadora a falta de 4.7 segundos en la prórroga.

Actuación histórica del israelí Deni Avdija con 41 puntos y 12 asistencias. Selló el juego con un "and-1" (canasta y falta) a falta de 16 segundos que puso a Portland arriba en el marcador.

Jalen Green cargó con Phoenix anotando 35 puntos, y Devin Booker sumó 22, pero los Suns se congelaron en los últimos 7 minutos del juego.

Portland asegura el #7 y se verá las caras contra los San Antonio Spurs (2°) de Wembanyama. Los Suns se juegan la vida el viernes contra el ganador del duelo entre Clippers/Warriors.
