Wednesday Walk To The Lake
I had so much fun @adetorrent/wednesday-walk-monochrome-shots-and-a-strange-cloud-in-the-sky" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">last week taking photos so I decided to do it again today as part of the Wednesday Walk challenge. We have a lake not so far away so I trekked there in the slightly windy but pleasant conditions to get some snaps. I was actually hoping to take photos of the birds but they weren't out in their numbers for whatever reason. I think it's mating season for them so perhaps they where elsewhere doing that :). Maybe birds now value their privacy.
A tree that died many years ago had finally fallen into the lake, creating a new photography opportunity. I like reflections so I tried grabbing some of those. I did also see some birds but they were moving so fast that none of the shots came out ok. I had a manual focus lens from an old film camera so I couldn't autofocus quickly like the modern snappers. This setup is more for calm, slow and still photography.
The skies were moody with plenty of texture created by the moving clouds. That is actually the preferred condition by most landscape photographers - especially for black and white. A clear blue sky is, surprisingly for some, not the best for photography. There's such a thing as too much light. It makes for harsh, washed out shots.
It's spring though so tings are starting to look very colourful. My next walk will difinitley focus on colour.
Peace & Love,
Adé
